Information About Presentations

There will be around 100 participants for the upcoming PBL Research Symposium (Preconference for SEFI). There will be 25 papers for oral presentations and 18 posters. The program has now been uploaded, please check at the www.ucpbl.net. All papers will be published on a CD with ISBN number.

With an intention to make this Research Symposium as lively as possible, presentations will be arranged as following:

The poster session will be organized in the following way. Participants will be put into 18 teams and will be asked to visit three posters. For presentation in the poster session, please prepare the poster and short presentations (max 5 minutes). For each poster round, there will be 12-15 minutes including both presentation and discussion. After three visits at posters, participants can walk around. The poster session will be followed by a reception, where the participants still will have access to all the posters. Concerning the size of your poster, you will have 110x110cm available.

The oral presentations of papers will also be organized in an interactive way. We have clustered three papers in each session. The papers are going to be presented and discussed within an hour. For each session, there is a session chair. Authors will be asked to present the paper within 8 minutes.  After the three presentations, there will be a panel discussion, where it is possible for the authors and the participants to discuss and come up with common research questions. The overall intention of the session is both exchange ideas and to develop input for relevant research questions and projects which are going to be discussed in the active workshop for research proposals - so please have that in mind.

Each chair of the session has the following tasks:

  • To prepare a common question based on the papers for discussion during the session.
  • To chair the session, keep time and facilitate the discussion of the papers and the common questions.
  • Based on the discussion results, prepare input on research questions/projects for the active workshop for research proposals.
