Nordic Network in Engineering Education Research 23-25 May 2012, at Store Restrup Manor

Nordic Network in Engineering Education Research

This year’s NNEER seminar will be organised by the UNESCO Chair in PBL in Engineering Education group at Aalborg University (Denmark). The main theme is “Change and Sustainability in Engineering Education”.
Several workshops, keynotes and panel sessions are held to promote discussion and collaboration among participants regarding to several challenges posed to Engineering Education Research. This seminar aims to fortify what was already achieved in previous seminars, but also discuss and reflect upon new relevant topics for Engineering Education, such as how to change EE and EE for Sustainable Development.

The aim of NNEER is to develop Engineering Education Research in the Nordic and Baltic countries and to increase collaboration among researchers and doctoral students in these countries.

The kick-off seminar of NNEER was in May 2010 in Sweden to initiate the network, where 21 researchers met for two days to present their research and discuss joint future activities.
For the second seminar 35 researchers from Northern and Western Europe registered to establish relevant research questions, international collaborations with different methodological approaches so that the strengths of different research groups or individual researchers could support each other. It was also discussed how to support research training and PhD work instruction in engineering education.

The network also actively collaborates with SEFI EER working group and it is supported by NordForsk.
