The UNESCO chair held the second research symposium on PBL on 3rd - 4th of December, 2009 at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. There were more than 80 participants from 31 countries all over the world. Papers presented at the symposium were published in the IRSPBL2009 Symposium Proceedings (USB).The Symposium covered major topics including:

■PBL and assessment
■Staff development for PBL
■Community, Industry and PBL
